Is there a virus in Yahoo Answers?

I just got a message saying yahoo answers is spreading a virus and I should backup my computer files "for free" in case they get wiped out. Is this true? Why is nothing being said on the Yahoo answers home page?

Yahoo's official posture is they deny the accuracy and relevance for any given answer; and so there are d-bags who put intentional poisoned links up as answers hoping to snag the unwary.

Yahoo doesn't scan for virus either, so it's "user beware" at all times.

It does sound like you're being lured by that message though.

You might want to tighten up who can IM you to avoid these random intrusion attempts.

You have a fake antivirus program taking over your computer. Whatever you do, DON'T click on anything in the program; no cancel; and definitely no OKs. Try to uninstall it and then run a virusscan.

I also recommend you install Malwarbytes to scan your computer on top of any Antivirus program you have. Ccleaner would also be useful to repair any registry damage it might have done.
