Johnson 25hp electric start ?
I have a 1973 Johnson 25hp with electric start I replaced ignition switch but still have no power but if I touch the negative post of solinoid with the ground wire it runs the starter is there something wrong here do I need a new solinoid please help every thing is wired up right

Seriously, take it to the shop. . . let the guys with expertise, experience, and proper diagnostic tools check it out for you. . . Believe me - it will save you a lot of headaches, heartaches, and money, in the long run - and make for alot more pleasant and carefree season of boating.

The solenoid ground terminal is disconnected, and when you connect it to ground the starter spins?
If that happens any time when the keyswitch is *NOT* in the "start" position, the solenoid is stuck closed and needs replacing.
