What is the difference in a Chevy K2500 and a Silverado 2500?

Is it just a trim package? or is there more? I know that k means 4wd.

Depends on the year. chevy trucks used to be called the C/K series and silverado was a trim package. For example my '84 blazer is a K5 silverado. in the early 2000's I believe the line was renamed silverado so an example would be Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 vs the old badging of K2500 silverado (if equipped with that trim level).

Used to be that Silverado was an upgraded trim package available on ALL chevy pickup trucks. For the past few years, it seems that ALL full sized chevy pickups are called Silverado and upgraded trim packages are LT or ST or STS.

    A K2500 is a 3/4 ton 4x4 pickup. A C2500 is the same basic truck with 2-wheel drive
