During my orientation for freshman year, we got a little pep talk from our guidance counselors and our schedules. At my school, we pick our lockers, so my friends all got together and made sure we were next to each other. I brought my school supplies and set my locker up. I also walked through my schedule and met my teachers. We could ask questions, and sign up for clubs/sports/counseling services. It is fun, and calms first day of school jitters.
So- Meet teachers, try out your schedule, and get lockers.
Bring- School supplies and your schedule.

It's different at every high school, but usually you do not need to bring anything. You will probably receive your class schedule, get a tour of the school, and listen to a speech from the school officials, guidance counselors, and/or upperclassmen (juniors & seniors). You might to some "team bonding" activities to get to know other freshmen. It is basically an icebreaker so you are a little used to the place & the people on the first day of school.
At my school, we brought our school supplies for our lockers after freshman orientation, but your school might do this before or during orientation. Schools usually send out letters with more details about orientation a couple weeks before.
Good luck...you'll be just fine! :)

The freshman orientation day is only freshman. Basically, at our school we take the freshman around the building to show them different halls, classes, and introduce them to some of the teachers. You will probably have to watch a PowerPoint about school rules, dress code, and to learn about credits. You may also play some games, to get to know the upperclassmen, (on the committee) and also some of the other incoming freshman. At our school, we get subway to "cater" and provide sandwiches and chips to the students. You don't need to bring anything.
If the orientation is also registration, you will take school pictures, get locker assignments, and pick your classes.
