Big Luggage store off 405 in Orange County, CA? Still Exist?
I think it must be gone, but I'm wondering the name. I can't exactly remember what exit it was near, but I feel like is was north of Bristol. Big luggage warehouse. Heading south-bound to the El Toro Y it was to your right in an industrial type of area. You had to get off the exit and double back. Like the size of a SavOn or so. They advertised for a few years on talk radio. I think they must be out of business as a brick and mortar building. But I hope I am wrong. It was like Luggage Warehouse, or something similar. This would have been at least 10 years ago I went there a few times.
Yeah, I found them on the internet already, but dismissed them since the name did not sound right. But if they do offer their goods, as you say, at suggested retail that doesn't sound like a discount warehouse or very competitive to me! This place I am thinking of had past-season models, incomplete sets, one-onlys. I did not think it was called Rootens, but I guess it could have been them.

The only lugguage store I know that exists/existed on or near the 405 is Rooten's Lugguage Outlet. It is right next to John Wayne Airport. Not as far down at the Y. Don't know if they did any advertising or not.
- the the way you describe getting off the freeway is correct. You get off at Jamboree and if you are coming south you head back north on Main Street.
Rooten's is still in business. Their prices are competitive (basically MSRP). And they are super helpful.
