I am looking for the best 45 acp for a lefty?

I am a lefty who is on the market for a 45 acp. This is not my first pistol and I have owned and enjoyed most other pistol calibers. I am now on the hunt for a 45 acp. Being a lefty I would want ambi mag release and ambi slide lock(I own a sig p250 40)... I have shot the hk p2000 40 and like the super smooth trigger pull and mag relaese. I am on the fence when it comes external safety(think 1911) I want a super smooth trigger and night sights.. something I am able to invest in now for my Chidren someday as an heirloom

Update:

John, I just looked at a glock 21 45 acp yesterday. Does it have the adjustable backstraps? The g21 I held felt rite but felt like I was holding it just off center. I am used to compacts and patroll models. but dang thst g21 was nice I dont remember if it was 4th gen or not...

Sounds like a Kimber would be a good choice for you.

Our local police dept received two of the Kimber Grand Talon II's and I got to be the lucky guy to check the out first. I've spend years building 45's, and decades on pistol teams firing nothing but Colt Gold Cup National Match pistols........those two pistols performed better than the Gold Cups. You will like the quality of the Kimber trigger - and - the fact that Kimber's ambi upgrades are not just installed - the parts are hand fitted to literally 'glide' into place!

Kimbers are not a cheap date - and - they do make about 28 various models and styles. However, they also do custom work is you need something a bit different.

I'm a lefty who can keep up with any of my fellow firearms instructors with my Glock 21 with no modifications. Learn to use the Glock properly and it's just as fast. I actually get a more positive magazine release than many of my peers who have smallish hands.

Give the Beretta PX4 Storm a try. The FNH FNX- 45 is good fit as well.
