How cn I heal a really hoarse throat?

So I went to the docter and they told me a had a head cold. He gave me a shot and some medication. I was expecting to get better, and at first I did. Everything is better but my throat.

First my throat would start to crack, then it got worse and worse. I sounded like a man/ toad last night (I'm a girl with a voice no where near that) and when I woke up this morning my voice was squeaky and airy.

I'm not talking because I know that helps. What else??

Try to avoid coughing and throat clearing. Those behaviors irritate your vocal cords because every time you cough, you're slamming you vocal cords together. So they become inflamed and raw, and need time to rest and heal before your voice will sound normal again. Here's what you can do:

    1. Avoid coughing and throat clearing

    2. Avoid speaking to much or speaking in a loud voice. You're vocal cords need to rest.

    3. Drink hot tea with honey.

    4. Stay hydrated and drink lots of fluid.

    5. Avoid hot spicy food, caffeine and alcohol beverages

    6. Steam your face over a sink

    7. Taking longer steamier showers

    6. Avoid mentholated lozenges

Gargle with warm salt water, before bedtime each night, until you feel relief!

Your sore throat, may not be related to your cold., You may have a Throat infection, see another doctor!
