What is it like living in New York City?

I'm thinking of moving there after college and I'm curious. Ie lived in both San Jose, CA and Dallas, TX. What's an average day like? Are people really as rude as they say? Thanks! And please I would love to her from people living there currently. :)

I live here in NYC. I've lived here since 1977, when I moved here at 17.

I would gladly answer your question, but truthfully I have no idea what you're asking. If you ask something specific about living here, I'll be happy to answer.

Ye, I love living here. No, I don't think New Yorkers are especially rude. We are brusque and we tend to speak plainly. But pretend you're a lost tourist on the subway studying a map. You'd be surprised at all the New Yorkers who try to help you.

I used to live there a while back. I currently live in Chicago. Completely different!

Some people are rude in NYC, but you can over look that. I personally didn't like the humidity. It was too much in the summer. Otherwise, I would love to move back.

Hey, the people here are not that mean except the drivers who think they rule the road. There's a lot to do in NYC. You can go to Central Park, Riverside Park, etc. The subway and bus system is great, but time consuming because of the waiting. The temperature is okay. Overall, you would need to see for yourself. California might be funner, but it really depends on what you are gonna do in NYC.
