If he ask you before he answers he is and is just a shy pussy.. but if he shuts it down and says the word friendship he might still want to screw yyou.. but chances are nothing more.

Take your time and dont rush or push the subject because then you WOULD be annoying. Sounds like he likes you but if you drive him nuts he will certainly ditch the friendship.
