Ask him what he says. Because in these situations no advice can be relied upon. If he agrees try to make this relationship work. If it doesn't then break up. Even after that you can both be good friends.

Do you commonly go for emotionally unavailable guys? Because him being gay is the ultimate in unavailable. I suggest finding a straight boy who can dig you for what you've got going on as a female, and being platonic life mates with your gay friend.
