What kind of gifts do Greeks like?

Greek ladies like handmade embroidery around the house , and things like traditional table linen too .

If you can find something pretty and affordable and traditional Italian in design , then those are going to go down well as a long term present for the family in it's home .

And @ IIis , Your Salamis and cheeses are going to climb out of their wrappers and greet this Greek family themselves after a long hot sticky journey , aren't they ? -- Probably have the whole street outside gagging into the gutter .

If you are Italian, you could bring something to decore their house like a tablecloth, or some short of object that is useful and also have something to do with Italy! Even an ashtray with the flag of Italy would be a nice present(if they smoke) :P:P

I would go for something like truffle oil myself. Thoughtful and you can get the good stuff in Italy. I know you said you wanted to avoid food & drink but it's the safest bet for a gift. They won't have to store it or display it!

I'm sure that you as a woman would not lack in taste. Any little item like a kerchief will be much appreciated by the women in the family.

It does not have to be of extreme value as it is your gesture that will be greatly appreciated.

If that will be accompanied by a bottle of original Campari or Cynar it will add to the gesture.

Ciao! Sono Greca e vivo in Italia :P non so se puo' aiutare mah a me di solito i miei amici e le loro famiglie mi chiedono di portare tipiche cose Italiane da mangiare! Io abito in Toscana e quindi mi chiedono prosciutti, salami, diversi tipi di formaggi, vinsanto e cose del genere! Comunque sia portagli qualcosa di vero italiano :P spero che abbia aiutato!

Prova a portare un modellino di una Ferrari (tipico italiano e a chi non piace??)
