When do you think Viacom will stop being stupid?

If you use Directv, then you have probably heard that Viacom wanted extra money and removed its channels from Directv because they didn't comply. This would have been bad anyway because I watch Futurama, but that and reruns of the Avatar: The Last Airbender would have been all that I missed. But it is so much worse because Nicktoons is running their Korra: Making of a Legend special that has an episode of the Legend of Korra on every night. I somehow missed this show when it first came on and have only seen it for the first time on this special. It is so good! I do not want to have to wait until another time to have to watch it. I have only seen the first three episodes. Directv says that it and Viacom are in talks to reclaim the lost channels but this will take too long. How long do you think it will take for them to reach an agreement.

Directv is on track to make a profit of 5 billion dollars this year. 20% of Directv customers are watching Viacom channels at any given time, but I believe Directv only gives a few percent of the money Directv charges customers to Viacom. Yes, Viacom raised their price, but they aren't being greedy. Viacom/Directv's contract lasted 7 years, Directv was just really lucky to have such a good deal for such a long time. I believe I've read somewhere that 50% of Directv kids are watching Nickelodeon at any given time.

Directv is silly for saying they will have to raise their customer's bill when they're on track to make 5 billion in profit.

Btw, The Legend of Korra is an amazing show. You have to be one of the most unlucky people in the world to be missing the reruns. :( I don't have Nicktoons anyway, but I did see the original. The Legend of Korra gets better and better as it goes on. They're on iTunes at least. If you've only seen 3 episodes, I can say that "you ain't seen nothing yet".

The simple answer is: As long as it takes. I don't think that Cable or Direct TV should ever cave into these types of demands! Where else are these idiots going to go to distribute their wares at the astronomical rate that they are getting now? How many millions are they willing to lose while we all tune-in to our second favorite choices, that we will soon learn to live with should they not come to their senses before they go belly up? I say let them stew! They are not invincible! I say hold off until they come begging and make them take a lower rate! And, we should do the same to the providers should they try to raise our rates. When we fight them in large enough numbers they will definitely feel the pinch. If flash-mobs are possible, then so are monumental numbers of people canceling their accounts within hours of each other! We will eventually be able to catch up on everything online at a fraction of the cost, if you just have a little patience. I realize that - 'that' seems impossible for some people, but you can effect major change if you can find enough intestinal fortitude to force yourself to stick to a corporate plan. That and stuffing cotton in your ears until you can't hear your spoiled brats screaming for their favorite TV shows.

DirecTV won't get back Comedy Central and MTV until it comes to an agreement with Viacom which probably won't happen until the people at Viacom get their way

Don't switch, you're just giving Viacom more power to hit all the other providers next. Viacom is screwed for pulling the channels

I know. I was so mad too. It's not fair. They're taking away all the Nickelodeon channels.

Now I can't watch TV >_< What a bunch of money hogs!

They better come into an agreement. We're not going to pay 30% more. That's stupid!

If both sides won't give in, it might take a very long time, before you may get them back. This is only a suggestion, but you should look for another cable provider, so you won't miss your shows.

    Idk. >_>

I think it is wisest to just wait it out and if they refuse still after a couple of weeks then just pay the few cents extra.

And this isn't the first time the're doing this.....

    But that's just my opinion......
