25hp johnson ignition problem?
So I bought a new solinoid and hooked it up just like the last one the new solinoid is a sierra 12v for Johnson outboards well it fried my battery and I mean fried it like melted the lead on the termanal of the negative post what went wrong the odd thing is I put in a 10 amp fuse and the push button ignition is a 15 amp ignition switch I was so mad I pulled most of the electrical out and left the starter hope it didn't fry any other electronics can any one help

I strongly suggest that before you do anything more with your motor you get yourself a manual.You can then follow the wiring diagram in the manual and you should have no more problems.You need to have a good look at the engine harness to make sure that it has not shorted out somewhere when you had the melt down.If its good,when you hook everything back up hopefully nothing has been blown and it will start-up normally for you and you are good to go.
