is there a way to regenerate brain cells in alzheimer's patients?
I'm 16, love science, but have nobody to ask just random questions to...so i thought i would ask the interwebs. Is there a way to regenerate brain cells in alzheimer's patients? Or create some sort of synthetic part, formulated from ones dna. I know researchers can make body parts that when in the body, the body won't see it as foreign (sometimes) and keep it/let it grow. But what about Alzheimer's? is there any new research that has been done?

Nice thought, but no. Once the brain is damaged, the cells involved can't be regenerated or fixed.
In some stroke patients, the brain learns different pathways to do a task that was previously done by the damaged area.
There is research on a "vaccine" to treat Alzheimer's, but it's a long way from being available.
Never stop being curious!
