Why would an animal that is naturally a herbivore such as a rabbit eat meat and enjoy it?

Rabbits do not have appetite control. We see cooked meat and think "oh that's cooked meat", a rabbit cannot possibly comprehend the notion of cooked, unrecognisable, meat! If that was a wild rabbit and it saw a dead animal, it would NOT go marching up and dig in!

Chances are any rabbit that eats meat and has a high protein diet is going to suffer some serious gut upset and a shortened life expectancy. That's why its up to the owner to be responsible and only supply the rabbit with food that's actually good for it. As for the numpty on the youtube video, they shouldn't own animals.

Sometimes when animals are presented with a new type of food source, they may or may not like it. For example, Let's say a vegetarian is presented with a hamburger and they eat it because it's the only thing there. It's just the thing of being presented with a new food source that's all. Animals would probably eat anything.

Rabbits eat everything -_-. If it smells good or looks edible they'll eat it. THEY'LL eat wires. They just want to try new food I guess. But they don't realize it will make their tummy hurt like hell....sort of like how humans shouldn't eat things that they eat like McDonalds but they eat it anyway.
