    Go to settings, then applications, then manage applications, then tap an application in the list and tap uninstall.

    Or you can download a free uninstaller app that lets you do it more easily, there are several available in the Google Play store.

    Settings icon - Applications

    Scroll to an app and press on it.

    Select Uninstall.
