Yahoo Answers is shutting down on May 4th, 2021 (Eastern Time) and beginning April 20th, 2021 (Eastern Time) the Yahoo Answers website will be in read-only mode. There will be no changes to other Yahoo properties or services, or your Yahoo account. You can find more information about the Yahoo Answers shutdown and how to download your data on this help page.

what happened at Yahoo answers?

The questions used to be in order based on age. That is the most recently asked questions were on top. All of a sudden they are in random order. Why do people always have to change things?

I like to check the site daily to see what NEW questions have been asked. Can't do that anymore without going through pages and pages of questions.

Check this. Under where it shows Questions in yahoo! Answers on the Yahoo Answers Page

Beside Sort by: the left column should show newest if it shows oldest click the little downward arrow that should change it to newest.

When you have any category's (including "All Categories") list of "Open", "In Voting", or "Resolved" questions page open , there is a sort list, which determines how the Questions are arranged, posted below the category sub-heading.

    These choices are:

"Newest first" - you can change this to "Oldest".

"Most popular" - No flip choice for this one.

"Fewest Answers" - can be changed to "Most Answers".

There is a new feature, which I don't have - "Recommended Questions" - sorting might not work on that . . . idk.

The site loses your sort order every now and then. Just resort them and it should keep the sort order for next time.

You are most likely seeing the new "Recommended" feature. Click the "Open" tab to go back to normal browsing.
