Two parallel metal rails are placed a distance d apart...?

A metal bar is free to slide along these rails. If the bar moves along the rails with constant velocity v in the presence of a vertical magnetic field B, show using faraday's law in integral form that the magnitude of the voltage V induced between the rails is given by

V=Bvd

    Faraday's Law

    V ( induced voltage ) = dø / dt

    ø = magnetic flux

    dø = change in flux

    dt = change in time

    flux = B . A ( magnetic field strength . area )

    Area mapped by moving bar = distance moved ( L ) . separation of rails ( d)

    L ( distance moved) = v ( velocity) . dt

    flux = B . v . dt . d

    V = B .v . dt . d / dt = Bvd
