In 1965 the out of wedlock birthrate in the Black community in America was 25%?

Today in 2012, the out of wedlock percentage in the Black American community is 72.5%. I am astounded at that fact, and this is a really valid question. Are Father figures becoming extinct in the black community? I am sure the white race is having the same problem in America, but I do not believe it is as high the Black %. If you say yes about the black father figure in the home disappearing in the black community,, could you explain why it has grown so high since John F Kenned'ys stand for Black Freedom in America?

The white group has about 29% oow, latinos 53% oow, and blacks 73% oow children.

Aid to "single mothers" began around 1965, and apparently encouraged a kind of government-aid-dependency among black women. The Clinton-era workfare reform (requiring maybe 3 hours a month of "looking for work") found the aid rolls dropping around 50%, which tends to confirm the notion that aid to "single mothers" was indeed causative.

Then, a cycle of generational dependence developed, in the black community. Single motherhood became the most important factor in remaining in poverty.

Charles Murray's "Coming Apart" highlights a more significant change: the distinction of education since the 1970s in the U.S., in which merit-based training at the better universities has led to a productive educated elite, which majorly marries among its members, and which waits until marriage to have children. These children, some now already past their college years, are continuing the behavior as they marry.

Murray has documented a definite change in society: for the first time, the whole society is searched for its best, most talented individuals, who then intermarry with others of that kind, and continue to raise their children in the same achievement-oriented mode. The rest of the country is significantly less apt to raise children in that educated, elite, marriage-based and ethical (whether right, left, or center) modality.

It's gaining in the white community because so many white girls have no self respect and are getting knocked up by these black guys that were previously responsible for the birth rate in the black community.

I have a relative that fits this catagory, one by a black and one by a Rican.

Entitlements. More welfare, food stamps, assisted housing, ect. for a single mother than a married mother. It is going to get worse.
