why does kobe shoot the ball so much on the Olympic team?
he has shot below 50% in both games, shot below 50% last olympics, and constantly forces shots over double teams when he is playing with players that are at least as good as him
He should be able to average over 50%. Everyone else does. The problem is he forces up too many shots that are just bad shots.
There is no excuse for why we cannot get an open shot or layup on virtually every possession. Instead, we have guys like Kobe and Carmello who force up horrible shots.
Kobe's olympic stats are horrible and his intangibles are negligible. Kobe didn't beat Spain in '08, as much as I hate to say it, D-wade did.

I've always said Kobe's the most overrated player in NBA history. Alot of Kobe's points come from free throws, which the referees give away since the Lakers bring in a lot of revenue. But Kobe won't be getting the referee bailouts in the Olympics. Kobe was 3 for 11 in fg and 2 for 7 from the 3 point line. If Kobe was even close to Jordan than him and Shaq should've beat the Bull's 72-10 record. They played 8 seasons together in their prime and the best they could do was 67 wins (Bulls' 3rd best record). Kobe couldn't do it with Shaq, Malone, Payton, Rodman, Horace, Gasol, Bynum, Artest. People try to put the blame on the coach, Bynum, Artest, Gasol, the bench, but it's really Kobe's fault.
Personally I think the 2008 team was better but even they nearly lost to Spain. Kobe back then was in better shape but was only the 3rd-5th best player on his team (look at the team stats). Kobe talks how this 2012 team is better than the dream team, but I wonder what Kobe's response will be if his team loses.

Kobe's never been close to a 50% shooter. This Olympics will be no different. Just Kobe being Kobe.

Cuz kobe is a beast one of the best players ever to play in the nba right behind michael jordan. And kobe didn't shoot the ball that much at all yet

tbh hes not shooting that much. kd shoots more than kobe does. carmelo certainly shoots more than kobe. kobe could take over if he wanted to, but he doesnt need to, and that is y he is letting his teammates do the "dirty work"
