What should i do when my employer refuses to give me my paycheck?
Okay so I just recently quit a job because the owners were being very inappropriate and they send me a letter in the mail saying you are welcome to come get my check anytime, when I go in there they told me I had to sign this paper of false accusations and also stating they took $100 out of my paycheck because there was $100 missing from the til that day when 3 other people were working on my till on the same shift. I told them I would not sign it because its not true and they have video footage and no proof. So they said they refuse to give me my check because I wouldn't sign this and because I didn't turn in a name tag which they said I could keep. I live in the state of Oregon the labor board wont do anything due to budget cuts I contacted the companies administration and no response and the police can't get involved. I don't know what to do. Any advise???

The laws of the state of Oregon requires your employer to hand you your final pay check at the same time they fire you. They can not with hold any amount of money for things not returned or shortages in the till. They have to file a civil law suit against you to collect money they feel you owe.
The next thing for you to do is call your state representative and complain about the Labor Board not getting involved. This type of abuse is the very reason they exist. Be sure to include the names of anyone refusing to help you.
Finally, you can file a civil suit against the company, but you will need an attorney to succeed in court as your company will have attorneys that will run circles around you and win on technicalities.

That's really just a load of sh*t, they can't do that, at all. Did you explain that they can't make accusations like that when there were other people working on the till that day? Why can't the police get involved? If i was in your shoes I would try once again to confront them and talk to them about it and explain you did nothing wrong and if they refuse to give you your pay tell them your going to get the police involved. It might be abit of a fuss but I would go to the police if you want the money that bad. Hope it works out :)

I kind of doubt the state of Oregon labor board refused to get involved because they can't afford it. If so, you need to talk to your congressman or state representative. Kind of their job.
I'd tell that story to the National Labor Relations Board and see what they tell you.

easy, return the tag, go to the court house and try get a case, go to a lawyer and get advice, normally its free, go for the simple "prove it" method, can't prove it, then its them who's stealing from you
