Why are La Salsa restaurants closing down all over the place? Is the parent company going under?
The one in downtown shut its doors with no notice or reason a few months back (it was always packed with people) and the one in Santa Monica's 3rd St. Promenade closed after looking like it does great business as well. I know the franchise was purchased by the Baja Fresh folks back in 2007, so maybe the parent company of both is having real issues and failing fast? I've also seen some Baja Fresh locations disappearing as well lately.

That is usually the case.
However they may have been bought by another company
and that generally means big reductions in the company they bought.
