Sites to visit in England?

I'm visiting England in a few years, and I hope to have two weeks to spend there. I know I will likely spend several days in London (Tower, Westminster, Buckingham Palace, anything else?), I'd like to see Stonehenge and Bath also. I'm open for suggestions for other sites to visit...castles, gardens, villages. I guess I'm looking for Agatha Christie, Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte's England. I know there is so very much to see that I'm a bit overwhelmed.

I'm considering coming in early September...weather advice would be welcome also. Thank you!

Update:

TSK, I would LOVE to visit Wales, Scotland, Ireland and all, but I'm concerned about the time frame. I want to be able to do justice to the area I visit. If not this trip, maybe the next one!

There is the Jane Austen house museum in Hampshire. (South)

Agatha Cristie's Holiday Home in Devon (South West)

The Bronte House is in Yorkshire which is in the North of England.

You could leave London, head to Jane Austen's museum, then to Stonehenge, Bath and on down to Devon. This would be at least 3 days or more. You would need most of one day from London to travel up to Yorkshire.

If you stayed in the West Country, there is Longleat Safari Park and house, Stourhead Gardens and House. There are so many places to visit.

In the London area visit the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew www.kew.org

The town of Ludlow (Shropshire) is very special and the surrounding countryside very beautiful

Bronte Country around Haworth in Yorkshire is great as is the city of York and Whitby and the two national parks in Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park

Then you need to get out of London and the see Hampshire for Jane Austen ( and Bath) , she is buried at Winchester Cathedral and then see Yorkshire for Charlotte Bronte..... and her family came from Northern Ireland in County Down a small place called Loughbrickland the area is very similar to Yorkshire................ if it is a few years you have time to research and work out where you want to see...............
