how to play avi or mkv files in sony bravia LCD TV?
One of my friend bought sony bravia but unable to play movies which are in .mkv or .avi format
So i need to know few things can somebody help me out.
1. What are the files formats that are supported by sony bravia LCD TV?
2. How can i convert them?
3. Can i use total video converter if yes (for those who had actually done it) what format is playable?
4. What codac need to be used so that the converted files can be played in bravia?
5. If tvc can not be used what are the other options (if any) do i have?

Here is the list of file formats by Sony. The files & formats can be played are denoted by 'O'.

If u want a experience of Full HD then also use AVCHD format at 1920x1080 resolution. Pls dont convert low resolution videos to high resolution.
For a normal view where u think Full HD is not necessary, MP4 format do.

You can use TVC to convert AVI or MKV files into MP4 files which can be played in most smart TV's including Sony

2.you can convert using some software.
3. don't know bout TVC 'cause i haven't used it yet.
4. My SONY BRAVIA EX300 support any kinda .mpg file
5.yes you have option-
"Cucusoft YouTube Mate".
Profile > HD video > HD - MPEG-2 video
