Should I be an art teacher or art professor?

I love art and I really want to be able to teach others about it when I'm older. Would it be a better opportunity to be a high school art teacher or an art college professor? How many years of school would I have to take?

You only need a bachelors degree to be a K-12 art teacher, but you'll need at least a masters and usually a PhD to teach art at the college or university level. Also, that job is a lot harder to get (far more PhDs than jobs for them). A bachelors is 4 years, a masters is an additional 2, and a PhD is another 2-6 after the masters.

To teach highschool art, probablay 4-5 years. To teach college art, probably 8 years and then they won't hire you if you don't have previous teaching experience!

Art therapist might be a viable solution - teaching or using art for a therapeutic purpose.
