Buick regal 307 engine upgrades?
Im about to buy a regal. This will be my 2nd since I started driving. It's gonna be m project car. Right now it's got a 307 olds motor in it. What kind of modifications can I make to the engine? My last regal had a 327 with a lot of work in the motor..it was a bad *** car..I want to make this one so that it's fast when unwant it to be but I'm not trying to race people or nothing..i was also just thinking about keeping that motor in the car for now and building a 350 to drop into it..opinions ?

Greg - you should have added in what year Regal. My thought would be to stay with the olds family and go straight up to a 403 - not the "big block", but the 403 small block Olds. My parents 77 Electra had a 403 in it, and they can be built to be very serious performers - it should bolt right in to the 307's current spot and to the trans as well. The 403 can dish out some serious torque.
As for the 307, it can be a halfway decent performer - it has about as much potential as a chevy 305, except with better torque potential. You can swap in a decent cam, swap to an Edelbrock intake, and if you have enough cash - you can port/polish/shave the heads for some more compression. If you go this route, remember that you want to shoot for a long, flat torque curve - if you build for high hp numbers you'll only make your Regal a slouch off the line.

i think your idea of building the 350 would be my choice.
just be sure not to over build it, which you will be tempted to do.
