why do most guys choose/play as females in video games?

I have never played a video game with female avatar, unless I had no choice. However, my wife has always tried to choose the female option if available.

The justification I see in online games while playing as a female character is the perks.

1) you get tons of free stuff from guys who wanna flirt (my wife was always hit on and given tons of armor, weapons, money, just because she had an avatar female)

2) more group invites, even though she was new to gaming, she had plenty of guys volunteer to "teach" her

3) Guys who have chosen female avatars, may just like to see female breasts/butts all the time, and they can do it with their own avatar.

4) heaven forbid anyone actually found out you're actually female, and multiply reason 1/2 by 1000.

Mostly I play as a male characters, however in RPG's female characters usually have certain stats that are Superior e.g. in the early Ultima games Male's were much stronger, whereas Females have higher intelligence allowing them to use more powerful magic.

Different people have different reasons I suppose.

When I ask guys this question on WoW they say because they prefer to stare at a females butt when running around questing.

I'm a girl and I always play as a girl, my boyfriend used to play as a girl but he changed to a guy when I told him I felt like a lesbian when he /kiss'ed me or whatever.

I find as a girl I get offered boosts and cheaper items from other players but it's not a huge deal I rarely accept.

I don't really know why, but in Halo you can play as a female spartan, and one time this guy tricked my friend into thinking he was a girl. My friend said that he even had a picture of a girl for his gamer tag. Anyways I guess that "online cross dresser" wanted to creep people out, because it definitely creeped my friend out!
