Army Active Duty, Army Reserve, Army National Guard, etc...?

I want to do MP (military police), but first I want to go to college. So should I do Army Active Duty, Army Reserve, Army National Guard, etc...?

Update:

What's the difference between Army Reserve and Army National Guard? And if I do either one I can still do MP?

If you want to go to college first, then you can go to college, then enlist in the military, either Reserve or Active, and be a military policeman.

Also if you want to go to college and serve in the military you can join the National Guard or the Army Reserve and still be a part time military policemen and get financial assistance to go to college all while being a student full-time.

Army Reserve is run by the Federal Government.

Army National Guard is run by the State, and typically offers more state education benefits.

You can do MP so long as there are MP job openings within the Reserve or Guard unit where you live. If the Reserve or Guard unit near you doesn't need MPs, you can't be an MP

You gotta compromise between the two. I'm in the equal boat as you, just finished my sophomore yr of college and that i also wish to be an officer. I am doing the SMP application by means of the national guard. I am going to sit down out subsequent semester to do general and AIT, then i'll contract ROTC in the spring semester. This fashion you get a small style of being enlisted by using going by way of normal and ait(it's relatively irrelevant). The cause im sitting out a semester is considering general/ait will make up for my ignored ms1 and ms2 classes, you get a bit spending cash, get GI invoice & kicker, attain an implicit advantage over different ROTC cadets seeing that went by way of basic/ait and on your case you want enlistment expertise you get it. -- even higher, if you contract ROTC the countrywide preserve or reserved contract is "waived" and you can compete for energetic responsibility officer with the other cadets and are not obligated to defend or Reserves --- when enlist, it doesnt topic what MOS you chose( just get a brief one) due to the fact that MOS alterations while you contract ROTC to most often cadet (09r) --- ensure you're at a institution with ROTC and speak to them before you speak to a recruiter.
