What kind of paints should I use for painting on glass ?
Recently I have ben painting alot on glass jars and bottles. I would like to paint jars, used beer and wine bottles, wine glasses, shot glasses and other glass things like that. I have been using acrylic paints but the paint chips and if you get it wet it comes rite off... I would like to know some good brands and types of paints to use so that they can be washed and the paint will stay on nice. :)

Glass Painting is not merely painting on glass. Rather it is the use of transparent enamel colors to produce decorative effects in glass. Both the medium (glass) and the painting combine to give an ethereal effect.
As your medium is glass as well, instead of using acrylic paints which are opaque in nature, use transparent glass paints which will also enhance the beauty of the painting due to its reflective nature.
For permanency, use any good brand of SOLVENT BASED glass paint that is available locally. Solvent based glass paints do not get off easily even if dipped in water for longer period. Avoid contact with thinner or spirit as these might damage the paints.
Pébéo Vitrail is one famous brand. Few shades of this brand are also available online at ebay or amazon. For more details regarding this medium; please visit : http://en.pebeo.com/Creative-leisure/Decorate-surf...
