The Best High End Balls ($40- $50) are:
Titleist Pro V1/ V1x
Bridgestone B330 Series
Callaway Hex Black/ Chrome
Taylormade Penta
Srixon Z Star
The nicer ball feels a bit softer and has increased spin and distance due to the 3 peices that make up the ball.
The Best Mid- line balls ($25- $35) are:
Titleist NXT
Bridgestone E Series
Callaway Warbird
Taylormade Burner
Srixon Q- Star
The midline series are still soft but less pieces make up the ball (usually 2). This makes the ball harder to spin/ putt with. But distance increases due to more roll.
The Best Cheap Balls ($10- $25)
Titleist Velosity
Bridgestone FIX
Taylormade Rocket Ballz
Srixon Tri- Speed Tour
The cheap balls are hard. These are the pinnacle or rock flites that many beginners will use. These are sometimes referred to as rocks because there is little or no spin on the ball. Yes the ball will travel further but in the long run it will hurt your short game.
If you have the means to spend a little more i would steer far away from these rocks and go with a pro v1 or z star.
