GPU-2 not detected after compressed air clean and SSD install?

Recently I took the case of my dekstop, cleaned it with an air compressor and installed an SSD (OCZ vertex 4) to it. Now, my windows 7 and BIOS no longer detect my second GPU, this was before i did a fresh install of windows, the fresh install changed nothing in regards to my second gpu.

I'm not home at the moment and just trying to get some ideas, i might try updating the drivers my SSD is using just in-case it's conflicting, but if that doesn't work I'll have to try and find out what's wrong with it hardware wise. I'm pretty sure all the power connectors and such were in properly with my gpu and power supply....

my specs are :

i7 2600k

2x 6970 crossfire

1000watt 80+ gold

8gb ddr3 2133(OC) ram.

ocz vertex 4

western digital 2tb hdd

maximus iv extreme b3 stepping motherboard

Update:

UPDATE: BOTH graphics card's fans are running when i turn the pc on, so it's not a power issue (i even tried unplugging the ssd and checking the bios, it still only reports 1 gpu).

The psu is good for the crossfire of the 6970 , as a matter of fact your specs are good for gaming , video editing, 3d rendering, photoshop and other adobe products , all games at ultra settings with good fps swap the graphic card around to make sure it's not the slot , maybe a little pressure setting it in place might help, check the bridge connector between the two , man! those are great specs post it online and see what others think about it

you might not have enough power AMD GPU (and CPU) require a lot of power, tow 6970 will need 800W you can find exactly how much power they need this power calculator http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/ i think is worse at least checking out

Yeah that's right. you a need more power. on your computer.

also updating to latest driver's will help a lot in fixing previous driver issue's.

  • You cutting it close with the power supply. check if there is dust in the pcie slot.
