I just got over 300 mailer demons in a 30 min. time period.?

I had not sent out any e-mails and the word demon was spelled deamon. any idea where this came from and how to make sure they don't come back?

    This is usually caused by malware on your computer generating spam from your account without your knowledge. This Yahoo help article explains the problem http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?y=PROD_MSNG&page=co...

    You need to do all of the following to stop it

    1 - change your email password ASAP and make sure the alternate email address on your account is still yours

    2 - run a FULL virus scan - make sure your virus scan is the most up to date version

    3 - run a FULL malware scan. If you don't have one you can download the free version of Malwarebytes

    4 - after running both scans and deleting all infected files, delete your browsing history and cookies and empty your cache

    5 - restart your computer

    This should stop it
