my nephew has an ipad he was getting itunes and it was getting expensive so i put a pascode on it now?
i cant remember the pass-code is there any way to reset the ipad with out losing the existing apps that are already on it

Have you ever sync the iPad to any computer at all? (iTune) If no, the just open iTune, sign in with his current Apple ID, go to the Purchased section and re-download everything that he have ion the iPad, once that it's out of the way, restore your iPad, create a back up, it should prompt you during the restore. If everything works out OK, at the end of the restore, it should ask you to restore as brand new or from the back up, choose the back up. Everything should be back in the iPad as it was before the restore took place.

It will remove them all but if they are on itunes they will go back onto the iPad but all saved data will be gone. Have you tried clicking on forgot password and tried getting it that way?
