Kellen Moore? Put down the crack pipe my friend.

    Two names come to mind:

Jerry Rice - he was harder to stop in college than he was in the NFL

Ladanian Tomlinson - he was clearly the best player in CFB the one year he received some Heisman push. I think Weinke from FSU won it instead. Why? Who freaking knows?

I would have liked to see Colt McCoy play better (well, play at all) against some quality defenses. Who couldn't throw for a million yards against a Big 12 defense?

I have encountered some really stupid folks on Yahoo Answers! And the moron that claims that Jerry Rice was not eligible for the Heisman because he didn't play D1 (at the time, now FBS) ball is a good example.

From the Heisman Trust web site:

The Heisman Memorial Trophy annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work. The Heisman Trophy Trust ensures the continuation and integrity of this award. The Trust, furthermore, has a charitable mission to support amateur athletics and to provide greater opportunities to the youth of our country. Our goal through these charitable endeavors is for the Heisman Trophy to symbolize the fostering of a sense of community responsibility and service to our youth, especially those disadvantaged or afflicted. All assets of the Trust beyond the expense of maintaining the annual presentation of the Heisman Memorial Trophy are reserved for such charitable causes. The Trustees, who all serve pro bono, are guided by a devotion to college football and are committed to community service and the valued tradition which the Trophy represents.

Tell me where it says a player has to play D1/FBS ball? You can't. Do you know why? Because you're f-ing stupid.

Vince Young. This is about college and not what a player has gone on to do at the pro level. Young led Texas to two straight Rose Bowl Victories. The 2nd Victory he put Texas on his back and carried them to a win over USC as he rushed for 200 yards and threw for 267 yards. Young finished the season passing for 3,036 yards completing a 65.2% of his passes for 26 TD's. Young also rushed for 1,050 yards with 12 TD's. Young finished 2nd in the voting to Bush, because Bush had all the hype and hype is everything when it comes to voting. I know the heisman is awarded before the bowl games, but what Young did on the field warranted him to win it over Bush.

Keith Byers, Ohio State 1984. If Doug Flutie hadn't completed the Hail Mary against Miami Byers would have won it.

I would go with Peyton Manning. He's one of the best college players ever. He was robbed by Charles Woodson because of the hype surrounding the vote.
