If I Bought a Heavy Men's Silver Bracelet on That?

popular sales/auction site that begins with an "e-", could I purchase that bracelet without fear of getting ripped off? (I would use Paypal...)

thanks

The easiest way to protect yourself when using "e" is only to deal with long standing sellers with high sales records and high feedback scores. If you buy from dubious people (feedback less than 50) you take a risk. Paying with a credit card linked to PayPal is actually the safest payment method. You have the PayPal dispute facility and failing that, credit card chargeback. But, if the price is low you are probably going to be buying something plated/fake. You get what you pay for in all things. Really cheap gold or silver is almost guaranteed to be fake. If the new item is worth $500 retail, on "e" you might pick it up the same new item for around $350 to $400, but if it's like $50, it's a fake. Second hand is different, values drop a lot for second hand or used. You might get your bracelet for $150. Always read the other feedback comments, always see what type of stuff they sell, always ask questions before you buy and always deal with reliable sellers and you can be a happy shopper.

While I never purchased jewelry from that popular "e" site, I have purchased just about everything else. I buy from there all the time. In the 11+ years I've been shopping there, I only had 1 problem, and a tiny one at that. It was resolved with a single email to the seller.

I've yet to be ripped off, or otherwise scammed. I know there are some horror stories out there & that the site sometimes gets bad mouthed, but I remain a satisfied buyer with nothing but good experiences...and a house full of stuff my husband says I don't need. lol
