I wouldn't bother trying to fit an engine from another manufacturer, if you are going to do this then I'd recommend sticking in another 2.8L Ducato engine then you'll know it will definitely fit without modifications.
Also just out of curiosity, how many miles does you're engine have?
EDIT: I couldn't reply to you're message because it kept failing, but anyway I would recommend selling or scrapping it.
I can't see it being worth the money in buying a new engine nevermind one from another manufacturer, you'll have to spend money in changing the mounts and any other potential modifications that may be needed.
What I would recommend is buying another van like a VW or a Transit, sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

You most effective ought to cross the specifications for where the car was intended for sale. Italy must then offer you at least a transitority go. Inform us the engine serial quantity, the place it was once at the beginning certified on the market, and we could also be competent to aid more? For these unfamiliar, DVLA stands for Drivers automobile Licensing Authority, and the links can support.
