Is buying a 360 really worth it?
I plan on buying a 360 but it seems like its more pricy then the PS3 including, accessories, the console itself for what's included, and online. Seriously, what's so good about an Xbox 360?! What does it have that Playstation doesn't offer because I can't find the difference but everyone plays it. I mean so, there has to be something that makes everyone buy it and pay $60 a year to play against people online. If its really worth it I will be More then happy to put out $300 for 250gb, buy and extra controller that takes battery's, headset, etc.

Side by side, a simpleton would say the PS3 is better. I agree to a point with the browser capabilities, free internet, free online play and some really awesome exclusive titles. However, the 360 does its online better. The main reason PSN was hacked so easily is because PS3s are built like computers. That may sound great but PCs are much easier to be hacked than consoles. 360's online sucks kind of because you have to pay for it but after a while that seems so trivial. I don't know why but it just feels better. Usually 360s are better at not disconnecting you randomly from games. I have no idea why this is but it just is. On top of that, 360's online store is somewhat better for some reason. They have plenty of recent games that can be bought immediately with an internet connection and offer a lot of their awesome classic games as well as some indie games and great arcade games. You won't be using 360s accessories really all that much. PlayStation likes to lock their system making it less user friendly. You'll know what I'm talking about if you try and put a bigger memory system inside it whereas the original 360's is right on the outside and can be disconnected at any time. Sure you can hook up a hard drive to it but the same can be said about the 360. Apart from that, the one gripe I have is with 360s controllers. For some reason they are incredibly unreliable and break often. Apart from that, the PS3s controllers are extremely reliable and user friendly, making it so every single wireless controller can be hooked up to the PS3 via a special cord that is cross compatible with all PSPs and some cameras like the one I have.

not much, unless you really want to play a specific exclusive.
XBL has the edge over PSN, if it was free it would be a good asset for 360 but a few apps and being more user friendly is hardly worth paying for at all never mind the price of a game every year.
considering there will be a little over a year before ps4/720 (about 4 months 'till wi u), the only way i would advise going with 360 over ps3 is if you go with the 4gb or preowned older model to save your self $$$'s (but even then an old ps3 isn't going to be much more)
PS3 has better and more reliable hardware, more top quality exclusives with much more variety, free online, blu ray, an internet browser PSplus (if your interested)... And just look at last gen M$ dropped xbox a few months after 360 PS2 is still getting games 6 years later
like i said XBL is slightly better than psn (although a rip off) xbox also produces more vibrant colours (technically ps3 has better graphics but in practise xbox looks better), is generally more user friendly (especially compaired to the amount of 1 hour+ firmware updates on ps3) it also gets more DLC earlier than ps3, and has its share of great games.
Overall though ps3 is better
Source(s): oh and to any idiot who brings up the hack... Anonymous (the guys who hacked it) Brought down, mastercard, BBVA Bankia and pay pals operations and the websites of the governments from the following countries Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Iran, Chile, Britain Colombia and New Zealand scientologies website and 'm pretty sure of the FBI and/or CIA's websites XBL, has no better protection than any of those sites, it would be down in minutes if an organised DDOS attack was launced - 9 years ago
It's because the Xbox has a stronger community, meaning more people and people usually buy them to play with their friends. Many games also offer their DLC earlier for Xbox. But you also have to pay $60 a year for their multiplayer. As far as batteries go, just buy rechargeable ones, it will save you alot in the long run. And as for Playstation, the community isn't as strong, but you don't have to pay. So it depends on how much you will use your console. You also have the option of getting a nice(r) computer and playing games on that, which is the most expensive of the three, but also has the strongest community and the strongest performance. Those are just a few things to consider before making your choice. Hope I could help.
