Faulty Wiper Motor - Opel/Vauxhall?

My front wiper motor is acting up on the first speed, in that it gets stuck half way until I tap the stalk or change speed up. Even when I tap it out, it gets stuck on the way back. It's perfect on higher speeds, so I'm assuming I don't need a whole new wiper motor. Any ideas what the problem could be and how I could fix it?

I have a '99 Opel Astra (1.4)

Thanks in advance!

Could easily be dirt in the switch, or a faulty relay, but I'd start with the relay as cheapest and easiest to swap out!

Sounds to me like it is in the motor or the wiper linkage, check these out first. A switch would not stop the wiper in one particular place.

It sounds like it might have a faulty connection somewhere on the linkage not the electrical but on the linkage itself.
