Help i think my computer crashed!! ?
My flat screen Samsung sync master 570s tft computer is giving me a black screen. When I first turn it on it says " IBM" and at the bottom of that IBM logo it says press F 1 for setup or F 12 for start up device menu. I have tried F12 and it does not do anything that helps so I go to F1 and it takes me to a light blue screen that says "IBM SETUP UTILITY" it has a list of things to mess with like ,menu, devices, start up,advances, security, power and exit. I just make everything default and press exit it takes me to another black screen with white writing that says "a disk read error occurred press CTRL+ALT+DEL. I press that and it goes back to the screen from the begging the IBM with the F options and it just keeps doing the same thing unless I press f1 and I don't know what to change in that option :/ but I have went back to F1 and tried changing some stuff even though I did not know what I was doing, it worked for 5 min then went back to the black screen with white writing. And I am stuck at the IBM that keeps going to and ctrl-alt- del, back and forth and I just need help pls
Thanks in advance.

Take your computer to a computer store like Office Depot, they can run a test of your computer and let you know what the problem is. If your hard drive is about to crash they may be able to save your pictures music and any other important files. Clicking on things when you do not know what your doing in never a good idea. They only charge $50 for this but if you end up having to replace the computer they usually wave the charges if you get your new computer from them.

It's a hard drive problem, hence the 'disk read error'. You need to proceed with caution if there are files stored on the hard drive that you do not want to lose (reformatting the disc would cause you to lose everything). And the problem might well be that the hard drive is wearing out and needs to be replaced if you want the computer to keep going. So unless you have all your files and music and photos backed-up somewhere else or you don't have any because you just use the computer to surf the net, I would advise you to seek help from a computer professional.

Yes something is all screwed up, maybe a bad drive partion or some sort of registry problem. I dont remember much from my computer science degree but just fixed a similar issue with an old desktop by reformatting the drives.
If you still have the windows install cd, put that in, turn on the computer, you should see an option to boot from CD, then reformat and re install...directions should be self explanatory
