Help with Finale PrintMusic?

Okay, so I ran over my trail, and right after composed a beautiful piece. It wont let me print the score because the trail is over. Is there anyway to print it than having to pay 200 dollars to buy the program?

    download finale "notepad" http://www.finalemusic.com/notepad/default.aspx

its free and can open files from all the other programs, even if the file contains some element that notepad couldnt create.

its nice of them to let it do that.

(but if printmusic had linked parts you had formatted, those wont be accessible in notepad. im not sure if printmusic even does that though...)

oh, but you cant save either, can you..? so you cant save it and open it in notepad...

well, if its a simple enough piece.. (like no time sig or key sig changes) its possible you can use the selection tool to copy and paste?

not sure but maybe the clipboard will hold stuff from one program and let you paste into the other.

it didnt warn you your trial was up when you opened the program?

it wont be pretty but if you want to avoid totally losing what you wrote, you could always do a screenshot to get a lo-res image file and reenter it into different software.

Saving as a pdf isn't going to work simply because "saving as a pdf" is really "printing to a pdf file"

    ... the joys of tiralware.

Pay the $200 or find someone who has the program (assuming it still lets you save files) ... transfer the file to a computer with a legitimate copy of a Finale product and print away.

Edit ... another thought: Make screen shots, crop the images and import them in to Word or some other document that will let you print.

Try saving the file as a PDF or another document and then close finale, open the PDF with the score, and then print out the PDF file. I had to do this when my computer with the printer didn't have finale and my laptop did - worked fine for me.

    Hope this helped :)
