What do you think about a 1952 Studebaker Commander 2 door V8?
I am looking for peoples opinions on the looks and value of the car. I am thinking about buying a barn find with the plans to restore and sell it.
This is a picture of one on Yahoo
It is a matching numbers car with the factory V8. The guy selling it found it 2 years ago in a barn and drove it home. It is a 6v car with factory interior. He also has all the patch panels for the rusted out spots.

I think it's a really cool car. The cost to restore it may be greater then it's end value. My dad had one years ago with a six cylinder and three speed with I think overdrive and it got excellent gas mileage. I remember he kept a special book just for checking and recording his MPG. Gas back then was only around 12-15 cents per gallon. My dad was a really cool guy and so was his cars. Love my dad.

Done right it would be pretty cool, the only problem is you will have a hell of a time finding parts, and im not sure if you know this but you will probably need to put in a new engine and tranny. It is very unlikely that you will be able to make a matching numbers car. But go for it, I love old cars, who doesnt?
Wow thats pretty rare, I would go for it then, but yea unfortunately to restore the car right then sell it you will prolly lose money. But if there are only minor problems then it could be cheaper. But i will guarantee it will need an engine rebuild, even if it runs, its just so old, the seals, gaskets and potentially some internals may need to be replaced.

Very good looking cars then, very good looking cars today. If you want to restore the car you need to make sure everything is done correctly or it not worth much. But!!! by restoring cars in the past, do not.. I SAID DO NOT... plan on selling it and making money. Unless you get the car real cheap or are able to do most of the work yourself you can NEVER sell it for what you have in it. But if you do a cheap job and find a sucker... and there are plenty of them out there.. you may make money.
