How to not injure myself during jiu jitsu training?
I tried jiu jitsu about a month ago but re-opened a shoulder injury while falling to the ground in an awkward fashion after being unable to tumble and was injured for a few weeks and wasn't happy. I want to get back into it but I am afraid of getting injured again. Any preventive methods?

I am actually the same way. Pretty much the only preventive way to avoid re injury is just to rehab and strengthen that shoulder, if it happens again its unfortunate but you might like me where your at a point where you are injury prone and there isnt much to do except for strengthen it up and hope it would re injure, by strengthening it the less chance of it get hurt but in jiu jitsu, you never know what may happen on the mat

Good answer by Gomez. Make sure you've sufficiently rehabbed and recovered.
Beyond that, make sure you warm up properly. And make sure that you tap out promptly.
Hope that helps.

Thats how I started and it'll get you so far..... but the best training obviously would come from a real trainer. I still think its fun, but it can be dangerous.......
