My 11 year old son is a very reluctant reader.?

Hi I know amazon sells many ebooks. Have you ever tried online story sites? With these a recorded voice will narrate all the text, then at the end the child is tested on some words which were in the actual story.

How about instead of finding stuff with audio narration and highlighting etc - YOU sit down and read a book with him.

Reward reading books with money and video games. Even though it's material bribery, it develops habits and habits last a lifetime.

Also, find books he's interested in; sci-fi, mysteries, fantasy, etc. Visit your public library, ask the children's librarian for help.

My nephew is 7 and he doesn't like to read at all. It has affected his spelling and handwriting also.

so with my nephew we are rewarding him for reading.

we made a sticker chart and for every book he reads out loud with no help he gets 1 sticker.

Then he gets prizes for every 6 books he reads or he can save them up and get a big prize.

For six books he gets to choose a goodie bag ( he has a choice of 3) doesn't know what is in a bag.

Goodie bag1 has Gum,M&M's,Pencils and Markers

Goodie bag2 has Fruit gummies,M&M's,Stickers,Temporary Tattoo

Goodie bag3 has Note pad,Colored pencils,Army men

If he chooses to save stickers up he gets the following prizes

For 12 books he gets $3 to spend at the ice cream place

For 18 books he gets to invite 1 friend over to play for the afternoon

For 24 books he gets to invite 1 friend to stay the night on Friday night

For 30 books he gets to go to McDonald's Play Place for dinner and Play for 1 hour
