If you committed a capital crime which could pull the death sentence; which would you choose: Death or Life?

Death. I could not bear living like that either. It's not really living. The total lack of privacy would put me over the edge.

I have always been an advocate for letting the punishment fit the crime. Maybe instead of the death penalty, this scumbag should have his spinal cord severed and forced to live as a quadriplegic. Of course that still leaves the matter of being shot in the face four times by a .40 caliber at close range and enduring all the surgeries that Officer Gonzalez has had to face. Maybe the death penalty is the best option, but none of that quick relatively painless (by comparison to Officer Gonzalez pain and suffering) lethal injection, or electric chair. The ancient Chinese had a punishment that every day the prisoner had a body part removed, starting with the feet and working upward. The body part was then boiled and fed to the prisoner, so that he slowly ate himself to death. No cost for food to the taxpayers. Cruel and unusual punishment? Not in my opinion.

First when it comes to the death penalty i hate it, its cruel unusual and crazy. 1. there will never be a perfect justice system so on that note you can't have it to where you can't retrace if you made a mistake. There has been numerous of cases overturned. LIfe in some states only equal 20 years. doesn't mean life. But in reality i just don't want to put people to death for death. Sorry i just don't feel people have to make that choice. People hold grudges, and i don't expect them to act fair in cases. Or be honest. And being fair in the justice system can be the difference between acquitted and death row.

Im not going to get a rant into how unfair i think the justice system is but i will stay on topic and just say if its any choice where its something other than the death penalty then im picking that. I seriously hate the death penalty.

What? Shucks, I will take a life sentence any day. I can go to the prison library and read, eat, sleep until I'm old, which it isn't that bad. But death is too easy. I don't want to be in the world's most violent prison. I have a tendency to day dream and be in a nostalgic state of mind for hours.

Death is kind of suicide, since you are kind of inflicting it on yourself. You have a choice. I don't do suicide.

But Life in prison is worse than death. D: It really is 50+ years of torture...jeez.

You can do all sort of things in jail, reading (or even writing) books, working on your body, having pen pals,...they can even have sex with their partners and make children.

And there is always an institution of amnesty so there still is a hope to be a free man one day

Death. If I committed a crime against another being in which they died, I deserve the same punishment.

I heard you get free healthcare and all the good stuff (No taxes etc). As long as they don't send me to some notorious prison, then i'd take LIFE baby!

that's tough,id think id just go ahead and ask to be put to death.those people on death rows really do live a pretty miserable life
