Advice for writing rhymes and keeping flow?

Like, you have to know how to count along in time... if you look at any of the flow diagrams in How to Rap, then listen to the track it refers to and just read the lyrics along to the music and it'll show you where the 4 beats are in those songs... the numbers at the top of the diagram show the 4 beats.

Then once you know that, it's easy... in the diagram, certain syllables are said at the same time as the 4 beats in a bar, those are the ones in bold type, so they keep you in time with the music.

So if you are writing your own raps, just make a diagram like that, and make sure you have a syllable falling on each beat... one of the examples is the Pharcyde's "Drop" and the lyrics are like -

So "LET" is said on the 1 beat, "FUNK" on the 2 beat, "LETE" on the 3 beat, "PUNK" on the 4 beat...
