How to get my clear coat back?
I recently installed a new hood on my truck, and when I went to purchase it im not sure what he did but it looked really sharp and matched my paint great, but now after having it a couple months its all faded out and white looking and doesn't match anymore. I try keeping it under a tree as much as possible but when it sits at work all day its near impossible. I know its that because my truck gets well taken care of, I have no doubt there is more wax then paint on what I bought originally, but having to switch hoods and now his does not match. I rubbed it down good once with rubbing compound and came right back over with a thick coat of wax right away, but it still didnt last. The hood has a really nice shine like the rest of the truck, but the color does not match, and mostly from the clear coat "fogging".
It is a Dodge doing what Dodge clear does if you don't take care of it, but I have 4 trucks in my family alone that prove a little love and Dodge paint, body, and clear will last forever.
Is my only option to have a body shop repaint the whole truck?
I already know the paint code, but I want a good match, being the truck was over 10 years old when I got it who knows how much it faded already, a brand new shot of paint the hood may match just as bad as it does now?

Don't repaint the whole truck, just have your hood repainted and make sure it's by a well qualified specialist. To get the hood the same color as your car there should be a sticker on the inside of the driver side door with the color code of your car.
