Should you get points for asking "interesting" questions?

Like if people star your question, it gets you a point (maybe up to 10 or so per question). Because I think people who ask good questions contribute positively to the site, and I want to encourage worthwhile questions.

The purpose of this site is not to have a contest for the most interesting question. You are supposed to ask a question that you need the answer to. It may be interesting to you and not others.

No, because one person's "interesting" question wil be another person's deadly boring question. The system is not programmed to work that way. If stars got you more points, THAT WOULD BE ABUSED TOO. People have already harassed and solicited other YA community members to star old questions.

The most starred questions are rarely the most interesting. It's just people's contacts starring them for no good reason at all.

what purpose would that serve since this is not a popularity contest.
