Is a nurse's salary really enough to live on?

I am gonna go to college soon and i know that i wanna be a nurse. I am just wonering if what they make is realy enough to be comfortable with. Where i live( southern California) i believe that the salary range for a nurse is 60000-85000 and i totally know that that is really great money for one person. However im wondering when the time come for me to have a family and a house will i be able to give my kids a good life? And i know that when i get married my husband will also bring in money. But if something happens like i lose my husband(god forbid) to either divorce or death or if he only makes min wage. You know?

Good grief, you haven't even started college and you're imaging your future husband dying and leaving you broke?? You need to chill out.

Pursue a career that you love and if you are lucky enough for that job to pay you as much as $60-$85K a year you will be just fine.
