Romantic restaurant under $30 a plate in vegas?

boyfriend and i are celebrating 5 year anniversary in vegas, but we are on a budget! i certainly dont want an overpriced place with mediocre food, but looking for a delicious place where we can get 2 entrees and 2 drink and pay less than $70 or $80... would also like it to be a romantic and restaurant with a quieter atmopshere if possible. we are staying at the monte carlo so anywhere within walking distance from there. also i enjoy more unique and modern dishes rather than very traditional dishes.

Thanks so much for you answers!

Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris... great location, good food, can be romantic.

You can review the menu but you should be able to do it for under $80.

you keep saying .... budget, budget, budget = vegas is not budget.

you can probably stay at a high end place in your neighborhood (Napa or even the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay) for what this "budget" trip is costing to vegas.

Most of the "romantic" places on the Strip are very expensive. The only ones I've gone to cost $300 or more for two people. We cut down on the cost by buying $25 off coupons at restaurant.com for $10 or less. If you have never heard of them, they're great. Restaurant owners use the service to get more people into there restaurants. We use them all the time. I'm a local, though, and the only restaurant I can really recommend is the one at the Le Cordon Bleu Cooking School in the Summerlin area. For $18.95 they offer a 3 course meal plus a non alcoholic beverage. Wines are available for an extra cost. You wouldn't be able to walk to this place. It would take about 30 minutes to get there by car from the Strip, but its worth the drive for gourmet food at a fraction of the price. The restaurant itself is not very romantic. However, it is quiet. When we went at about 5:30pm there were no other customers until we were ready to leave. You can also watch the chefs make the food and they invited to look at all the dishes available. It was very interesting. If you are interested in going here is the information:

(Be forewarned that the menu on this site is not updated. The cost is more then what they say. Expect the foods to be different as well)

(Use zip code 89119 for the Strip)

Mon Ami Gabi would be perfect if i were you! It over looks the bellagio hotel and fountains with inside/outside seating and is GREAT to people watch on the strip! Another place i like is Battista's. There is a cheesecake factory inside the caesars palace mall area which always has good food! If you want a quiet romantic place then Hugo's Cellar downtown at the 4-Queens is the BEST IMO, very romantic here but it does cost a bit more but well worth it!

The Monte Carlo has a brew pub on site that might come close to what you're looking for, although I suspect it would be too noisy on a Friday or Saturday.

I had a fancy gourmet burger at a high priced food court a few years ago that had a nice atmosphere. I can't remember where it was though. They give you an electronic device that beeps and lights up when your order is ready.

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris would be a good option. You can get an inside table for a quieter atmosphere, or sit on the patio and watch the Bellagio fountains. It's reasonably priced, the food is good, and the atmosphere is somewhat romantic.

We stayed at the Luxor a few weeks ago and ate at Rice and Company. It was very nice and quiet. We went as two couples for a double date and our bill was only around $200. I got a salad, sushi rolls, and a few glasses of wine. It was well worth the tab. I'm not sure how unique and modern you are trying to get but this place was a bit more upscale than any places I go to back home. I hope you have a great anniversary. Have fun searching too

Drinks are the most costly. I would suggest you go to Gold Coast just off Strip to their special dining room
