Is there really any difference between Taxation and Plunder?

Yes. We get to vote for the guys that impose taxes.

Taxation comes with the consent of the Governed. Plunder takes no consideration of the will of the Governed, and instead exherts power by force.

There's a big difference.

Taxation is used to provide services for the population: military, police, and fire protection; education; social services; clean streets; sewage systems; clean water; health departments; roadway creation and maintenance; legal and penal systems; etc.

Or did you think that stuff just happens by magic or that the people who provide those services do it out of the goodness of their hearts?
